The list was compiled by an ad hoc group of experts: film critics VALENTĪNA FREIMANE; DITA RIETUMA and KRISTĪNE MATĪSA; philosopher ULDIS TĪRONS; film director JĀNIS PUTNIŅŠ. All films included in the Latvian Culture Canon are made available free of charge in 874 public libraries via the portal www.filmas.lv that was crated in collaboration of the National Film Centre of Latvia and the State Agency "Cultural Information Systems".
